Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Thank you to my lovely husband who watched Ethan and Chase so I could create a quilt top. I used the Yellow Brick Road pattern, which I love. Strip piecing quilts is totally the way to go--it is so fast! I cut, arranged, and sewed the strips into squares in one day. I used Heather Ross' Mendoncino fabric. This quilt will be perfect for the beach.

We had a relaxing New Year's Eve at a friend's house in downtown Copenhagen. We saw the most spectacular fire work display--it went on for hours. Happy New Year!

WOW, em! You are prolific! What a beautiful quilt top, I can't wait to see it finished! I love Mendoncino, it is supposed to be super soft too, so I'm sure it will make for an amazing quilt! Where did you find the pattern? Love it!!

You are inspiring! I still have my quilt to finish with that fun, summery fabric! Maybe I'll work on it today...it is rainy and gloomy out!

I agree about strip piecing! I am so lazy of a quilt maker that I won't really do a quilt unless I can strip piece it. Haha. Actually, I'm going to not strip piece my next one, which is perhaps why I haven't started in on it yet. Either that, or it is the 3 month old that I hear waking up in the living room!

Miss you Em. This quilt is going to be neat! Happy New Year!
