Liberty Quilt

My sis-in-law made a beautiful quilt for Ethan, and I have decided that I want one of my own in the same pattern! (See my quilt above.) The fabric I selected is by Liberty of London--my new favorite fabric manufacturer. Liberty is also a favorite among the Danes, as many women wear clothing made out of this fabric.

Aaron and I had so much fun arranging the fabric squares in Keynote last night. Usually when I am making a quilt I spread out the fabric pieces all over the house, arranging to my heart's content, but I now prefer this method. It is fast, clean, easy, and now my dog can't run off with my squares or lie on top of them. If you want to arrange our own quilt on the computer, check out Sarah's tutorial.

I am not sure what color I will choose for the sashing. I am going to pick it out when I go home in September.

Fun! I decided to look up liberty fabrics, because they have several historical designs (included our beloved William Morris). I couldn't find a history of the designs, but I did find a place that sells quilt squares...http://www.christabels.co.nz/patchwork.html For your NEXT project! Love, Mom

This is going to be gorgeous! I hear so much about Liberty fabrics from the international blogs! Did you buy these online or in store? I love how your digital quilt turned out! Isn't that just the best way? I HAVE to do it now or I am lost!! Love it! We should definitely go shopping for sashing fabric when you're home!
