Flowers and an Apron

As you know, lilacs were in full bloom this past month. We are fortunate enough to have four bushes of fragrant lilacs at the house. Chase seems to appreciate them too and takes time to smell the flowers. What a cutie!

Last week, a friend of mine lent me this fun apron pattern from the '70s. I made it the next day and fell in love with this feminine pattern. I want to make the longer version of the apron sometime--it is so unusual. I think that the short version would make a great bridal shower gift. After I made it, I realized that the fabric and trim together look like a watermelon.

This is the cutest! I'm not sure what I love more, the apron, or my little pooh bears' mutual love for all things beautiful. Nice work again on an awesome creation! Love you. Hubby.

Hey Em,

Love the sewing projects! I'm just getting back into sewing after a 15 year hiatus or so. The lilacs make me sad. I had total lilac envy this year. I threatened to steal from the neighbors in the dark of the night. Finally, to shut me up, Ed bought me 2 lovely, but small bushes!

Love, Mom

Emily,
Great job on the apron! I love the fabric and trim. I wouldn't have thought watermelon but now that you mention it....
Fabulous.
I might have to borrow the short apron (skirt only) that you show below. Those turned out great. You're so talented!
How's the chair coming along?

hey em! that apron is so cute! you're right, it is an unusual pattern, but it's so adorable! it might even make a cute short summer tank top if you make it cover your back too. what do you think? chasie's so cute...love him! you're so creative and, of course, you're my inspiration! love you!

you are so talented! And you have a lot more to show than I do of our newly found free time. I love the color... but I'm a sucker for bright colors. :)
