Baby Changing Pad

A friend of mine is going to have a baby boy in November, so I made her a portable changing pad out of oil cloth. It is easy to wipe down and the perfect size to stick in her diaper bag.

I used thrifted velcro for the closure and vintage red bias tape to enclose the raw edges of the pad.

The different fabrics keep the pad interesting.

I attached pockets for diapers and wipes.

I hope she likes it! I am going to create a tutorial one of these days--it is really easy to make and doesn't take much fabric.

Chair Organizer

My grandma wanted a place to put her books and pens, so I made this organizer for her. It slips on the arm of her favorite chair and even has a flannel pocket for her glasses. This organizer is adapted from an Amy Butler pattern from her book In Stiches. My goal this year is to stop using patterns and start making my own. I just don't want to ruin any of my gorgeous fabric with my amateur pattern construction skills.
