I had too many piles of hexagons, so I started sewing them together in strips. As I have been doing this, some story lines have emerged:
Weekend getaway |
Picnic in the park |
Mom's sewing basket |
Midnight train |
I've been having way too much fun with this project. I think it's time to tame the crafty mess on our kitchen table.

I love it! My favorite is the midnight train. I want a whole room decorated out of those fabrics! Thanks for posting on your progress.
Gorgeous!! I can't wait to see this one come together! Any ideas for how you want it quilted?
Thanks, ladies! I would love to have it quilted around each hexagon, but I don't know if this will be feasible. After the longest project imaginable, I DO know that I won't be doing the quilting!
you are too cute! i love that each set gets a name!
I like them! They are just too cute! I'm making a hexagon quilt too!
I am inspired! Must start stitching some together sooooooon, so much more fun than just piles in a box. I like the lady in the headscarf!
Have a nice day, and keep'em coming!

Just stumbled onto your blog. This hexagon project you have going on is so cool!
I love the story idea. Makes piecing even more fun. If I do a random hexie quilt I think I'll try this.
Just saw this on Flickr and I love it! I am trying to make one for my daughter, more a playmat size than quilt, but also with fussy cut hexies. I have a long way to go yet.
